OREOS

So little miss Lydia decided that she was going to get into the pantry and eat Oreos.
Tyler and I were upstairs for a min and when Tyler made his way down he yelled that Lydia had gotten into something. I of course freak out and yell what and he just tells me to come downstairs. I am totally thinking she got into something bad or that she was splashing in the toilet. When I make my way downstairs she was chowing down on some good ol oreos. She had an oreo mess all on her hands and face and was sitting in crumbs having a blast! We have no idea how she got them. The little plastic thing they come in was nowhere to be found and the little packs they come would of been way to hard to open herself. We asked Lily if she opened it for her and she said no. So my guess is Lily had opened one earlier today when she wasn't suppose to and left it in there and when Lydia saw the open pantry she of course went for the food b/c lets be honest I have a little porker that loves food haha. She had never eaten an oreo before and I hope now that every time she sees them she doesn't whine for them b/c she LOVED them and was still trying to pick up crumbs while I was cleaning them up.

Birthday Party!

So Lydia's Birthday Party theme was LADY BUGS! I was really excited to get everything set up and decorated! I wanted to make sure her 1st birthday party was fun for everyone and I think it was! At least I hope it was!
I was very excited for the girls to wear their black and white outfits to match the party and I even made my amazing cooperative husband match the party to! He is such a trooper!
I made the lady bug invitations and I was very proud of myself! They were actually pretty easy and I would totally make home made invitations again.
We had lots of yummy food and snacks and I was really happy and surprised that everything got eaten! I usually always make way to much but I think there was just enough!
We had a lady bug cupcake cake made at the commisary and I thought they did a pretty good job. I really wanted to try and do it myself but I didn't have the time or patience. I was afraid that it would turn out bad so I just thought why not get it made.
We rented a bouncy house for the kids since most of the kids are around Lily's age and I didn't want them to be bored! Well lets me honest another reason was I didn't want all the kids in the house haha. That may sound really mean but I wanted them to be outside in the nice weather and get lots of energy out! And come on who doesn't LOVE a bouncy house! I think most of the adults got in it to. I know I did!
I love that I will be able to look back and remember Lydia's 1st birthday and birthday party were in Hawaii with a beautiful view right behind us!
I think Lydia's first birthday party was a success! The only thing missing was our friends and family from back home!
I still cant believe that my big momma is 1 now!

1 year!

Lydia is 1! AHHHH! I cannot believe that my baby girl is 1!
I know every mom says this but where did the time go!? I remember the day I had her! Just staring at her and how perfect her little face was and trying to figure out who she looked like. She was absolutely perfect! She was so so tiny and thinking about to how tiny she was I never would of thought she would be as big as she is now.
She has the sweetest smile and is such a happy baby! I was always worried that since Lily was such a good baby that my next one would be crazy haha but it was the total opposite of what I thought. She is the best baby and is a laid back sweet baby girl!
I love the way she scrunches up her face and smiles and I love how she scrunches up her nose and breathes air out like she's sniffing like a dog haha.
I could not have been more blessed to have such a wonderful baby girl!
Lydia is eating lots of big people food and loves to try and eat whatever we are eating. If Tyler and I sit down on the couch with something to eat Lydia makes her way to one of us and whines for some. Some of the stuff she can't have but I love that she is eating all sorts of new things. She is totally off formula now! Which I have to admit is pretty nice. Its a lot easier to poor whole milk out of the jug into the sippy cup then making a sippy cup with formula. She has been walking more and more everyday! Its so awesome to see her playing and then all of the sudden stand up on something and start walking! I love it! She is doing so good and I am so proud of her and all the steps she takes. Lily gets excited for her to which I love! The other day Lily said look momma Lydia is walking and then all the sudden I see her coming around the corner from the kitchen!
The morning of her birthday I made the girls pancakes with sprinkles! Lydia was SO hungry by the time I was done and set the plate down in front of her I didn't even have the chance to break them into pieces before she grabbed both of the pancakes and went to town haha. For lunch I made her favorite...Macaroni! She could eat that for every meal if I let her!
Lydia also had her 1 year check up and she is whopping 22 pounds 4oz and 29.5 inches long! She is one big girl! The Dr. looked at her and said I think she is going to be bigger then her sister. Which I wouldn't doubt since Lily is more on the petite side. We will see though. I am happy she is one healthy girl!
On her birthday I switched her car seat from rear facing to forward facing! Some people had said oh i'm sure she would be fine if you switched her car seat now but I am weird like that and didn't want to until the day she turned 1. I did the same thing with Lily. Plus all the stuff you read says age 1 and 20 pounds. So I like to go by the rules. It makes me feel better. I was pretty excited to switch her seat around. She kind of gave me a funny look when I put her in and then Lily got in the car and said oh my goodness Lydia! Your sitting like me!! It was so cute how excited Lily was that she faces the same way as her now. Lydia got excited once she was all strapped in and was kicking her feet all around . Everytime I would peek back at her she would get a big smile on her face!
After her check up we came back home and Tyler was home from work! We all grabbed a cupcake and sang happy birthday to the birthday girl! She wanted that cupcake bad and while we were singing she was trying to grab the cupcake with the lit candle in it! Crazy girl! Once we gave her the cupcake she was all about it! She ate the whole cupcake and loved every bite of it! It was pretty cute watching her eat her very first cupcake! After she was all done we let her "open" her presents. Lily pretty much opened them all for her but either way it was super cute! Lydia was more interested in trying to chew on the wrapped presents. We got her some clothes and every time she would pull a piece out she would put it on her head.
I dont know what it was but when it was time for Lydia's bed time which is usually 7:15 ish I felt bad and didn't want to put her to bed. I wanted her to stay up late on her birthday and I wanted to savor her on her birthday for a little while longer. I did end up putting her to bed about 7:30 b/c she was SO tired. But It was a weird feeling and i'm not really sure how to explain it. I mean I knew she was already 1 but I felt like by me putting her to bed she was REALLY 1 and is just going to get bigger and bigger now! That may sound silly and I know she can't be a baby forever and I totally LOVE all the new things she's doing but I want to savor all the little moments I have with her.
I think her 1st birthday was a success! It was really nice to be able to spend it together as a family! Even though Tyler was gone for her birth I feel really blessed that he was here for her 1st birthday and that he has gotten to see her grow so much!
Lydia is one special little girl! I don't know what it is about little girls but they are the most amazing little things in the whole wide world and I am so lucky to have 2 of them!
LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!

TOES!

Lily and I got our toes done yesterday and I have to say they turned out super cute!
I decided I needed a pedicure and it would be fun for us girls to get our toes done. Plus I wanted Lily to feel special and have pretty toes! Also b/c of Lydia's birthday and birthday party I didn't want her to feel left out. So I wanted to do something special for her.

This picture makes me laugh b/c of how white me feet are and how dang tan Lily's are!

Lydia gets to get her toes painted for the first time by me for her lady bug party but that cant happen until she is sleeping so she wont mess them up! She gets to have pretty red toes! Im excited to see her cute little piggies painted!

Nana's tanktop

If you havn't noticed the pictures I post on facebook with Lily in this pink beaded oversized women's tank top and wondered what the deal with it is. Well I am here to explain!
This tank top came from my mother in law. The whole Lily wearing Nana's tank tops or shirts came from when we were getting ready to leave WA from one of our visits and I didn't want to put her in any of her jammies b/c they were all clean and packed so Nana let her wear one of her shirts. Then it went from a shirt to her tank tops! Good thing my mother in law is a small cute little lady(she is only 4' 11'') so her shirts arnt too oversized for Lily. Well one day Lily got to wear one of her pretty tank tops and this was the one that she always wanted to wear!
Well the nice Nana that my girls have let Lily take this tank top with her when we moved out here to HI so she wouldn't be so sad leaving them.
Everyday she would sneak upstairs, get into her suitcase and change into this tank top. I finally had to hide it from her. But she still likes to sneak upstairs and put on the tank top and come down like she is in a ballroom gown and has this glowing/sneaky look with a smile on her face when she puts it on haha. She has really been into night gowns, dresses and of course Nana's tank top these days and if I don't tell her when I hear her going upstairs to not change into one she will! Sometimes it drives me crazy b/c she will be fully dressed and then without me knowing go upstairs and change and then she comes down in whatever one she is feeling like wearing that day.
So that is the story behind the tank top!

WALKING!

Well not full on walking yet but Lydia has taken more steps the past couple days then she ever has! I am so proud of her! She loves it when we all get excited for her! She is such a big girl and I cant believe on Friday she will be 1! Where has the time gone!?!?
Tyler has duty on Lydia's birthday which is pretty sucky but at least he will get to wake up and tell her Happy Birthday and he will get to come home for a little while during the day. I am going to wait to give her a cupcake until he is home to see it! I am very thankful though that he will be here for her party! Even though he missed her birth I am very thankful and happy he has been here for a lot of her firsts!
We are having her birthday party on Saturday and it is going to be lady bug themed! I made lady bug invitations which I am pretty proud of and I am excited to get everything decorated! I of course think I am more excited then Lydia is but I don't care b/c her birthday party will be fun no matter what!
I will blog all about her birthday party and take pictures of all the fun things we do! Even though Lydia probably wont remember her 1st birthday party I really want to remember it and want to make sure its great!
